A 1987 draft choice of the Boston Bruins, defenceman Glen Wesley enjoyed a lengthy two-decade NHL career, culminating in a 2006 Stanley Cup championship with the Carolina Hurricanes. Hailing from his most productive goal season in 1988-89, we have a photo-matched Bruins jersey worn by the Red Deer native. A Maska Air-Knit label is affixed to the collar, as well as both CCM and Custom Crafted emblems over the lower reverse hem, with the sweater measuring-out to roughly a size 54. Utilizing the iconic spoked-B team crest fully administered in layered tackle twill, “26” appears over the sleeves and verso in matching material, with identical Bruins alternate crests over each shoulder. We should also note that the “2” over the left sleeve was slightly lowered and moved to the right by the team.
Hammered with use, a ton of black marks litter the front and sleeves, with burns and resulting holes near each cuff. There is also red paint transfer over each sleeve and lower front, with four large team repairs near the left elbow. Getty Image #629696714 from Jan 14th 1989 has been matched to the hole visible on the right elbow. Three included numeric images have also been matched, with the first matched to the black mark near the "2" of "26" on the left sleeve as well as the big black and paint transfer marks on the lower sleeve, the second matched to a number of black marks in the middle left area of the team crest and other marks nearby, as well as a number of black marks on the left sleeve, while the third is matched to a number of black marks around the "26" on the left sleeve, and to the black marks on the left side hem, as well as the series of red marks near the beginning of the Custom Crafted logo.
