Team Canada’s MVP at the 2002 Winter Olympics, Joe Sakic also made his mark as an NHL All-Star. Taking part in thirteen best-on-best contests throughout his HOF career which included being named to the First All-Star Team on three occasions, Sakic also secured MVP honours at the 2004 showing. From the 2002 All-Star Game played in Los Angeles, we have a Team North America captain’s jersey worn by the two-time Stanley Cup champion. Tagged in the collar by CCM in size 56, the jersey also has additional NHL, NHLPA and CCM crests affixed. Featuring an NHL shield team crest and “19” over the verso in layered tackle twill, A 2002 All Star patch is sewn onto the fight strap, along with an inventory patch from the NHL, with this one of five jerseys worn for either the official photo shoot, pre-game warm-up or in one of the three periods.
Additional patches include a 2002 All Star Game patch at the right breast, a Colorado Avalanche crest over the right shoulder and a Canadian flag patch over the left. Sakic has signed within the reverse “1” in black marker, and the signature displays well with just light bleeding. Exhibiting no discernible game-wear, the jersey remains in gorgeous condition. Addendum: Additional information received has Sakic wearing this jersey for the official photo shoot.
