Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
The premier promotional puck of the pre-war era, we have an always desirable Kellogg’s premium puck with the signatures of Aurel Joliat and Charlie Conacher, with this promotion part of the confection’s Sport’s Library Tips in 1935-36. A Kellogg’s logo appears over one side, with the embossed facsimile signatures – slightly off center - of the aforementioned HOFers gracing the other. The puck shows good, prolonged use, with general wear but no large or unsightly gouges or chips. An original ad (6 ½” x 10”) of the Kellogg’s promotion with Conacher pictured was pulled from a period program and is included, along with an additional pair of vintage pucks, with a circa-1920s D.R.S. “Extra Regulation”, and a circa-1930s/40s “Regulation” puck with affixed label stating “Made in Canada”. The D.R.S. puck with side stamping has heavy white discolouration over both the front and reverse and along the side, while the “Regulation” puck with smooth sides and sharp edges sports light to moderate wear, with a small area of discolouration near/on the label.
