A great collection to display with your cherished Bleu Blanc Rouge items, we have a group of Montreal Canadiens displays totaling five, along with a vintage-style Habs jacket and suit bag and a pair of calendars. The displays include a pair of vintage broadsides, with one for the 1944 “World Champion” Canadiens (17” x 22”), with the full team pictured including Richard, framed to full dimensions of approx 25 ½” x 30 ½”. Next, we have a 10 ½” x 16 ½” example featuring the circa-1949-50 club, with the text inviting fans to come see the Habs At St Dom’s Arena, on Feb 12th 1950, framed to full dimensions of 16 ½” x 23. The third display is a Michel Lapensee print affixed to board at full dimensions of 18” x 24 ½”. Rounding out the lot, we have Habs calendars for both 1949-50 and 1969-70.
The World Champions broadside has fold lines along with some surface/edge wear, creasing and toning, with moderate wear to the wooden frame as well. The 1950 broadside exhibits a single fold line along with some wrinkles and toning, with some surface wear to the finish of the frame in a few spots. The laminated-to-board Lapensee print display shows light wear, with the 1949-50 calendar having large tears at the base and edge toning, with foxing to the 1969-70 calendar. Lastly, the jacket was produced by Roots, and is wool with felt sleeves, with a chenille Canadiens patch over the left breast, “85” (possibly the year made) over the left sleeve and a Canadian flag patch with “CH” logo over the right. The jacket also has “Montreal” arching over the reverse in matching material, with moderate wear including a few small marks. The suit bag has a Canadiens/Roots logo, along with red and blue leather trim, with moderate wear including a few marks and light staining.
