Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
The last surviving member of Toronto's 1932 Stanley Cup championship squad, George “Red” Horner spent a dozen seasons representing the Blue and White, with induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1965. We have a signed 1933-34 Hamilton Gum card of the Lynden native, with this example encapsulated and certified “AUTHENTIC AUTO” by PSA/DNA. Signed across his image in bold and dark fountain pen, the signature displays especially well, with the card itself in low grade, with corner wear, staining and a crease over the lower left corner. The reverse has also been heavily damaged, with some of the text missing due to paper loss from prior scrapbook removal. Horner was the oldest living NHL player at the time of his death, when he passed at age 95, in 2005.
