Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
Originally the third Bruins player to don Phil Esposito’s number 7 after the HOFer left for The Big Apple, Ray Bourque would begin to wear his iconic “77” in 1987-88, and the rest as they say, is history. We have a signed stick used by the superstar defender during the early-1990s. A Sher-Wood PMP 7030 model, “Bourque 77” factory graphics appear on the upper shaft as well as the underside, with the stick retaining its original white tape over the shaved handle and black tape over the blade. The NHL decal is intact, with Ray adding a blue marker signature over the heel section. A factory code is also present over the lower underside, along with “Boston”. Nice use is exhibited on the solid lumber, with both a rip and a small tear to the blade tape, with scuff marks along with red and white paint transfer over the shaft. There is also a small cut just beneath the signature.
