Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
A product of the famous University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux hockey program, defenceman Rick Zomba spent 12 seasons in the NHL, shared amongst Detroit, Boston and St Louis, before moving on to coaching with Lindenwood University. We have a Blues jersey worn by the Illinois native in 1993-94, his third season in The Gateway City. Maska Air-Knit labeling sits affixed to the collar along with a size “54” fly tag, with embroidered NHL and CCM crests over the back bottom hem. Styled with the familiar blue note team crest fully administered in tackle twill with “St. Louis” embroidered on, the white “1st Set” V-neck has been accented with tri-colour sleeve and verso numbers, with “Zombo” over the affixed nameplate in matching material. Heavy use is immediately apparent on the garment with dark marks throughout, including a few large stick marks over the lower front. There are also spots of paint transfer along with board burns, with small resulting holes over the right shoulder and elbow. Zombo was the only player to wear #4 for the Blues that season, and he appeared in 74 games. The team patch sits on the inside hem near handwritten “34165”, with a hologram numbered “000246” affixed nearby.
