Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
A memorable season for Sidney Crosby as a current Stanley Cup champion, the 2009-10 campaign saw the phenom register his second-highest career points total to date, with 109 scored in 81 games. Hailing from that very season, we have a stick used by Crosby in a Nov 14th 2009 contest vs Boston, a game that witnessed Sid plot a goal and two assists in a 6-5 overtime victory. The lumber has also been photo-matched – something rarely occurring with sticks. A Reebok Sickick II model, “S. Crosby 2” factory graphics grace the upper shaft, with the original black tape intact over the blade and white “ribbed-style” over the handle/knob. “11-14-09” has been handwritten over the handle tape, with a sticker listing the date along with the score placed over the underside near a Frameworth hologram. A COA will accompany.
Light use is visible on the desirable composite, with some wear to the blade along with marks and abrasions to the lower shaft. Getty Image #93204049 from Nov 14th 2009 has been matched to the chip in the upper area of the "R" of Reebok, and to the mark on the butt end.
