Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018

This scarce and amazing personal Presidents' Trophy award was presented to defenseman Jon Klemm following the Avalanche's incredible 118-point performance in 2000-01. A silver plate design by Boffey of Montreal, this trophy closely approximates the look of the massive original trophy presented each year by the NHL to the team that finishes the regular season with the most points. Standing a majestic 16” tall, it features a shallow silver bowl at the pinnacle supported by three silver hockey sticks. This trophy was first awarded back in 1986 and we do not believe that these miniatures were presented to all winning teams in the years that followed, making this one of the rarest of all of the individual league silverware.
“National Hockey League, Presidents’ Trophy, Jon Klemm, Colorado Avalanche 2001" is engraved on the silver-colored plaque on the front of the three-sided wood base, which has a few nicks on the edges. The shallow silver-plate bowl measures 8” in diameter and displays a few light scratches, mostly on the bottom. The silver-plate trophy is loose but intact atop the base, which stands just under 3 3/4" tall and has a Boffey manufacturer’s sticker is affixed to the brown felt on the bottom.
