Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
A veteran of the Canadian Army serving during the Second World War, Johnny Bower spent considerable time in the AHL before ascending to the world’s best league, later tending the net of the Toronto Maple Leafs for parts of a dozen NHL seasons. We have a stick used by the HOFer during the mid-to-late-1960s. A CCM Pattern Made Custom Pro model, a faint “Bower” stamp appears stamped-on, with “Bonded Fibreglass Wrap” over the topside of the shaft. The original tape remains in place over the paddle, blade and knob, with the striping accent over the handle gone. Great use is exhibited, with wear to the paddle and underside of the blade, with cracking at the heel section and at the tip of the blade. Heavy red goal-post paint transfer is also visible, with a signature from Jim Pappin over the upper shaft.
