Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
One of the most collected and storied hockey clubs extant, we have a great Toronto Maple Leafs document collection of eight ranging from the 1940s to 1970s. Included, we have a 1958 5” x 5” note on MLG letterhead addressed to SM Hulbig and signed by Billy Reay, a Standard Assignment Agreement for Churchill Russell calling for assignment from Vancouver to Toronto dated 1951 and signed by Hap Day, a 1947 notice on MLG letterhead addressed to Eric Pogue and a Proof of Tender form for Doug Marit for the 1974-75 season. This is followed by a pair of Try-Out Agreements, with one for Wallace Phair dated April 26th 1965 and signed by Bob Davidson, the other for Ed Philpott dated Sept 14th 1972 and signed by HOF builder Jim Gregory. Lastly, we have a note on MLG letterhead dated Oct 2nd 1979 and addressed to Jacques Toupin, with regards to a vehicle lease and credit card use from the club, along with a copy of a bonus notice for Jack Valiquette dated July 25th 1977. With no issues for the important signatures with both the Day and Gregory especially bold, just expected handling wear is present on the documents, including toning, staple holes, fold lines and light creasing.
