Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
This 1984 All-Star Game ring is from baseball’s annual midseason classic. HOFer Gary Carter homered to claim ASG MVP honors after leading the National League to a 3-1 win in San Francisco on July 10. Originally presented to a Yankees director, it weighs approximately 26 grams and is the same exactly in every way as the ones presented to the players (all rings presented were without players' names on the shanks). A zirconia is set in a raised-gold baseball diamond set in the middle of the blue stone in the tableau, and “Baseball All-Star” is spelled out around the bezel. The left shank displays “1984”, the MLB logo and “Candlestick Park”, while the 1984 ASG logo is on the right shank. “LGB GTC” is stamped inside the size 8 band. Comes with a Balfour box and a letter of provenance.
