Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
A rare opportunity, Classic Auctions is pleased to announce yet another partnership with the historic Montreal Canadiens franchise, one that will bring to auction a large and impressive bounty of jerseys fresh from the vast and seldom offered holdings of the storied hockey club. Examples are present from 2003-04 to 2014-15, with both important game-issued and game-worn jerseys offered, with a direct line from the actual player and the Canadiens franchise – to you, our loyal bidders. Each desirable jersey has inventory numbers from the Canadiens, with each to be accompanied by a letter of authenticity on Canadiens letterhead.
A member of the 2006 Team USA World Championships squad, defenceman Tom Gilbert has also spent time with a number of NHL clubs, including Edmonton, Minnesota, Florida and Montreal. This Canadiens jersey was worn by the Bloomington native in 2014-15. Size tagging appears along the collar including handwritten “3”, with embroidered NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Styled with the famous and sacred CH team crest, the white V-neck has been accented with tri-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Gilbert” across the nameplate in single blue twill along with the Beliveau “4” crest over the right breast. Game-wear includes a few random marks including a dark example on the lower front, with a few small holes near the left elbow resulting from board burns. The team patch numbered “A03670” sits on the inside hem, while a hologram affixed to the second reverse “7” matches the accompanying LOA from the Canadiens.
