Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
A rare opportunity, Classic Auctions is pleased to announce yet another partnership with the historic Montreal Canadiens franchise, one that will bring to auction a large and impressive bounty of jerseys fresh from the vast and seldom offered holdings of the storied hockey club. Examples are present from 2002-03 to 2014-15, with both important game-issued and game-worn jerseys offered, with a direct line from the actual player and the Canadiens franchise – to you, our loyal bidders. Each desirable jersey has inventory numbers from the Canadiens, with each to be accompanied by a letter of authenticity on Canadiens letterhead, with this section of impressive jerseys offered online with the familiar Classic Auction bidding rules applying.
Russian defenseman Alexei Emelin’s Canadiens game-worn jersey is from the lockout-shortened 2012-13 season. Emelin led the Canadiens with 119 hits in 38 games as Montreal finished in first place in the Northeast Division with a 29-14-5 record. Emelin’s white road gamer has “2” handwritten in black marker in the back of the neck, which has a size 56 flag tag. Game use shows in a board burn with an unrepaired burn hole on the front of the left shoulder, a small board burn on the left rear of the shoulder yoke, a couple of light marks above the red, white and blue stripes on the right rear tail and more light marks on the sleeves. The Canadiens 2012-13 Game-Worn Jersey patch sewn inside the rear tail displays No. A03163. The Canadiens hologram sticker applied to the bottom of the “4” on the back has registry No. GU11269, which corresponds to the team LOA that accompanies this jersey.
