Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
Well stocked with veteran talent, the Stanley Cup winning Toronto Maple Leafs had an aggregate team age of 31 in 1967, something that is unlikely to ever occur again. This absolutely beautiful limited-edition matted and signed photo celebrates that victory, which aptly took place while a hockey-centric nation commemorated its confederacy. At 16” x 20”, the cream-coloured photo has been hand-numbered “602/967”, and nicely framed to full dimensions of roughly 22 ½” x 25 ¾”. 19 members of that historic line-up have signed the photo in silver sharpie, with the signatures literally jumping off the dark muted background. Highlights include Mahovlich, Bower, Stanley, Armstrong, Keon and Red Kelly. An LOA will accompany.
In gorgeous overall condition, “Stanley Cup Winners 1966/67” appears at the base, with the limited-edition number placed along the bottom left. Other signers include Baun, Pronovost, Shack, Pappin, Conacher, Hillman, Ellis and six more.
