Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
Featuring both the Detroit Red Wings and Boston Bruins from the onset of the Original Six era, we have a pair of multi-signed Detroit Olympia programs from 1945-46, including a Stanley Cup playoffs example. The first program has been signed on the cover by 9, including Quackenbush, Liscombe, Brown, Bruneteau, Lindsay, Armstrong and Stewart, along with a pair that are only partially intact due to the clipped upper right corner, with one signature appearing to be Sid Abel. The playoffs program has been signed on the cover by 4 including Milt Schmidt, with additional signatures on the Red Wings line-up page from Liscombe and Hal Jackson, with the Bruins line-up page signed by 9 including Cowley, Clapper (twice), Henderson, Bauer, Clancy, Crawford, Egan, Lynn Patrick and one other. Minus just a few examples, the signatures all display well, with the programs themselves in low grade, with both featuring detached front and back covers along with the line-ups, with loss occurring in spots, with each cover missing large chunks of material. Each signed cover is also quite brittle, with creasing, tears and toning also taking place.
