Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
Beginning life in the mid-to-late-1960s in the Northern Ontario Hockey Association, the Capreol Hawks were Ontario Midget "B" Champions in 1966 and 1969, winning the League Championship in 1970. We have a gorgeous Capreol Hawks jersey that was donned by Bob McDonald Jr in 1967. Currently void of any labeling, the cream-colored durene features an especially attractive multi-coloured chenille Hawks team crest with chain-stitched details, with a pair of crossed chenille Canadian flags over the upper right sleeve. “2” appears on verso in dual-colour tackle twill, with six-eyelet configuration utilized on tie-neck construction. Some light staining is present along the interior collar, with a few additional marks on verso, along with holes over the lower sleeves with an especially large example on the left sleeve just above the cuff. 8 team repairs are also present, with 4 examples over the left sleeve, and 2 on the right, along with single repairs each on the front and verso. We should also note that three of the six grommets for the tie-neck collar are no longer present.
