Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Named as one of the ten former players who began their careers before 1943 to be considered by the Veterans Committee for induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in 2009, Vernon Stephens was an eight-time All-Star, the New Mexico native also led the AL in RBIs on three separate occasions. We have a bat used by Stephens earlier-on in his career while with the Browns, during the early-to-mid-1940s. A 35” two-toned 125 signature model, “S2” appears stamped onto the knob, with the center brand and stampings displaying well. Just light use is exhibited on the lumber with marks and abrasions to the barrel present, with a small name tag affixed to the top of the barrel.
