Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
The year 2006 was Jacques Villeneuve's final season behind the wheel of an F1 car. He drove the first 12 races of the season for the BMW Sauber Team but was replaced for the final six. His best finish was 6th place at the Austrian Grand Prix. This custom Puma fire suit was made to Jacques' specifications and has all of the team sponsors embroidered onto the suit. The Canadian flag and J. Villeneuve are also sewn on the waist. Handwritten on a factory Puma tag is the driver name "J. Villeneuve" as well as "001/06" making it suit number one of the 2006 season. Jacques has also added in felt pen "JV –06/01" in the neckline of the suit. A patch was sewn on the backside of the zipper cover that designates this as a suit made for the 2006 Malaysian GP, where Jacques qualified 14th and finished 7th. Please take note the helmet, gloves and boots shown in the pictures are for display purposes only and are not included. The suit is from Jacques Villeneuve’s personal collection and will come with his signed LOA.
