Rob Brown wore this gamer in 1989-90 when he followed up a sensational 115-point sophomore season with 33 goals and 47 assists for 80 points in 80 games. This game-worn jersey with Century Sports and CCM logos embroidered on the rear tail is from the Penguins' first season set, when Pittsburgh's NHL All-Star Game patch was not present on the left shoulder. Maska Ultrafil tagging including handwritten “44” appears in the collar, with a CCM crest on the back bottom hem. Styled with an attractive embroidered team crest, the solid white v-neck has been accented with double-twill numbers, along with single-twill letters on the nameplate on verso.
Game-wear on the garment includes a number of stick marks on the lower front, with additional examples on each sleeve along with considerable board burns. We should add that a circa 1989-90 Rob Brown postcard showing a white spot on the first "4" of "44" on the left sleeve matches the jersey, but it’s not high resolution enough to call a definitive photo-match.
