Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
A fourteen time all-star and one of Quebec’s favourite sons, Maurice Richard would be elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame a season after retiring in 1961, with the Hall suspending the five-year grace period for eligibility, further attesting to his iconic status. This lot contains a trio of signed cheques from the legendary superstar. All roughly 3 ½” x 7 ½” and drawn on his account at Banque Nationale du Canada, each cheque has been made out to Petro Canada, with a pair originating from 1990, the other ’91. Each features a gorgeous ballpoint signature, with absolutely no flaws. The cancelled cheques themselves remain in beautiful condition, exhibiting just regular handling wear.
