Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
These Montreal Canadiens travel bags originate with longtime trainer Eddy Palchak, with an example used in the 1970’s along with one used for the 1989 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The 1970’s example is a suit bag in Habs red, with a Canadiens logo on the upper portion. With hanging hardware intact, the roughly 28” x 41” bag divulges its long period of usage, with marks and abrasions present along with edge wear to a number of sections of leather. The smaller duffel bag was produced by MacGregor and was used during the 1989 Playoffs. The side pocket has “Playoff-Series” in both French and English, all embroidered along with a Canadiens CH logo and “1989”. The bag remains in very good condition with just regular use showing, which includes the top cardboard partition warping over time. Also included are two pairs of socks originally worn by Eric Desjardins while with the Philadelphia Flyers. Home and away examples, each pair shows heavy use with marks and staining present, along with “37” handwritten at the top of each sock.
