Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
Integral components in the 1996 franchise move to Denver that witnessed an inaugural season Colorado Avalanche Stanley Cup Championship, Joe Sakic and Peter Forsberg would repeat with the club as World Champions in 2001. This lot contains a pair of game-used sticks from the superstars, and they’ve both been signed. 1) Joe Sakic. A KOHO Vector DRC model, “Sakic” appears faded on the upper shaft, with the stick retaining its original tape on the blade, and gauze-style on the handle/knob. Nice use is exhibited, with wear to the bottom section of the blade, along with a few marks on the lower shaft. Sakic has added a nice black marker signature just above the heel, and it displays well. 2) Peter Forsberg. A Titan ASD model, “Forsberg” appears on the lower shaft beneath the factory graphics, with the stick retaining its original tape on the custom-shaved handle, with “21” handwritten. Nice use is exhibited on the stick, with a number of marks on the lower shaft and blade. The tape has been removed from the blade so that Peter could add a large and flowing black marker signature along with “Best Wishes”.
