Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016

Vintage 1974-75 Flyers Stanley Cup personal trophy commemorates the Broad Street Bullies’ second straight championship. After leading the NHL with a 51-win regular season, Philly swept Toronto before beating the upstart Islanders in a seven-game semi. HOF goalie Bernie Parent shut out Buffalo in the clincher of the six-game final to earn his second consecutive Conn Smythe Trophy. His name and those of Clarke, Barber, Leach and MacLeish are among the Flyers players engraved in three columns on the barrel. Our consignor purchased this silver-plated trophy in a private sale a number of years ago and it was sold to him as being from Bob "Hound Dog" Kelly. It has acquired a golden patina and the bottom of the base had its original felt replaced by the current black one. The ultimate piece for Flyers maniacs to own and display with pride.
“Philadelphia Flyers 1974-75” is engraved at the top of the barrel followed by execs, including owner Snider, GM Allen and coach Shero, all in the HOF builders category. Schultz, Dupont, Saleski, Kelly, Dornhoefer, Lonsberry, Crisp, Kindrachuk, Bladon, Van Impe and the Watson brothers are among the rest of the Flyers players.
