Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
Hailing from his last NHL season where he would compete in his final postseason, we have a Detroit Red Wings jersey worn by Hall of Famer Larry Murphy, and it could possibly be the last he ever donned. CCM and size tagging appears in the collar, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests on the back neckline and bottom hem respectively. Styled with attractive tackle twill numbers and letters, the back name has been sewn directly onto the jersey. The team stamp resides on the inside hem, denoting the garment as a “Playoff Set” example. The jersey also features customized sleeves and cuffs, with the original team store price tag still attached to the collar.
Nice game-wear is exhibited on the Hall of Fame garment with a few dark marks on each sleeve, along with 6 team repairs present split evenly between the sleeves. An unrepaired hole, most likely from a board burn is still present over the left elbow.
