Goalie Patrick Lalime went on to make his first NHL All-Star Game appearance in 2002-03 after wearing this Ottawa Senators No. 40 gamer during the pre-season. Lalime set an NHL record in his debut with Pittsburgh in 1996-97 for the longest unbeaten streak to begin a career when he went 14-0-2 in his first 16 games before suffering his first loss. He was the No. 1 goalie on a stacked Ottawa team featuring the likes of captain Daniel Alfredsson, Marian Hossa, Zdeno Chara and rookie Jason Spezza when this Senators game-worn pre-season red jersey with Goalie Style and size 58 flag tags in the back of the neck saw action. MeiGray NHL Game-Worn Jersey 2002-2003 Season patch sewn inside the rear tail has registry No. A04010, which appears on the accompanying LOA that states that Lalime wore this jersey during the 2002-2003 NHL pre-season. There is a team repair on the lower left sleeve, which also displays a solid black mark on the white fabric to the left of the “4” of the sewn-on No. 40 in red and black double twill. More game wear shows in a light mark on the left breast.
