Ancient one-piece curved wood wand is a rudimentary ice hockey or ice polo stick from the last decade of the 19th century. This plain and basic stick dating from the origins of the great outdoor game measures 38" long from the tip of the blade to the top of its shaft, with sides that are about 1" wide and a handle that is just under 1/2" thick. Lightweight stick is nicely preserved with only a bit of chipping on the edges, most on one side of the toe. A really cool display piece from the dawn of the game.
