Among the time-capsule snapshots featured in this circa 1910 photo album is a fascinating 4x3 image of a young athlete proudly wearing his magnificent “Cobalt” hockey sweater. This outdoor scene shows the player posed out of season on a dock in the small print at the bottom of the last of a dozen pages in this album filled with Canadian sporting and outdoor scenes from the early 20th century. Four vintage hockey sticks are brandished by young men in coats and bowler hats in another 3x4 snapshotAveraging 9 shots per page, the album contains over 150 original snapshots featuring many period images of rowers, boaters, sailors and other youthful activities, including scenes from a simple baseball game in an open field. “Photographs” is elaborately printed on the 11” x 16” leather cover of this “Gilson Adjustable Album”, as per the label on the inside of the rear cover.
