Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011

Wondrous white knit Canadiens home jersey by CCM was donned by three-time Selke Trophy winner Guy Carbonneau circa 1988. A Maska Ultrafil tag sits in the neck with the embroidered CCM and NHL logos on the rear hem. With sewn-on tackle twill numbers, Canadiens crest and the alternate captain's "A", the sweater shows nice game use loads of stick marks, burns and red board paint transfer on the sleeves with more game use showing up on the lower front. Best is those team repairs: 13 on the left arm, 24 more on the right arm and three more on the body to add to extensive exterior pilling. Possibly worn during the late Eighties period when Gainey was on the injury list and Robinson filled in as captain, opening up an alternate's position for Carbo. Carbonneau would be named team captain in 1989 after Bob Gainey's retirement. Autographed in black on the upper chest with a personalization and salutation. If you love wear on your shirts, this is a romance for you!
