A regular with Team USA at the IIHF World Championships, Dylan Larkin is currently in his fifth season with Detroit, with the young star already securing over 200 career points in his first four NHL seasons. Hailing from the Michael Wexler collection, this photo-matched Red Wings jersey was worn by the 2016 All-Star Game participant in just his second NHL season, in 2016-17. A CCM label with “56” sizing is affixed to the collar along with an original point-of-sale tag from the Red Wings pro shop ($3,250.00), with NHL and Reebok crests over the front and back necklines respectively. Styled with Detroit’s famous winged-wheel team crest, the white mesh V-neck has been accented with tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with a “9” crest over the right breast to honour Gordie Howe, along with a “Mr. I” patch over the left shoulder as tribute to Mike Ilitch, longtime Red Wings owner. The jersey also sports the NHL centennial crest, over the right sleeve.
The team patch denoting the garment as a “2nd Set” jersey resides on the inside hem next to a Red Wings bar code, with “68529” screened adjacently, next to a small screened “The Joe”. A few small dark marks are visible above the team crest, with fabric pulls present beneath. There is also some pilling over the inner and outer reverse hem, with team repairs over the left (2) and right (8) sleeves. Getty Image #653425770 from March 8, 2017 has been matched to the black mark just below the middle of the front collar, while an earlier Getty Image from March 3, 2017 (#647666768) has also been matched to the black mark just below the middle of the front collar, and to the long white thread to the left of the 100th patch.
