Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
The most venerated player in the history of the Montreal Canadiens hockey organization, Maurice Richard spent parts of 18 seasons representing his hometown Habs, with the Richard Riot in 1955 elevating his status to almost mythic proportions. We have three different displays along with an 8” x 10” photo, with each signed by the 1961 HOF inductee. We have a pair of 16” x 20” colour photos – with one showing Maurice posing with the Stanley Cup – with each double-matted and framed to 23” x 27” with wonderful signatures added. The third display is a limited-edition 1990 lithograph by Christopher Paluso numbered “146/500”, with both Richard and the artist signing in pencil, framed to full dimensions of roughly 18 ¼” x 24 ¼”.
The framed photo that picture’s Richard with the Stanley Cup has been signed in dark ink, the other frame (no glass) in silver, with each exhibiting light wear. The 8” x 10” photo exhibits light wear and has been signed in blue sharpie, while the framed Paluso litho is numbered in the bottom left, with no issues for the litho or frame.
