Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Well loved and cherished for almost 70 years, we have a Babe Ruth signed letter, with this specimen sporting a gorgeous and rarely seen green-ink signature. Penned in 1940, the letter is handwritten by a father to his son, and according to the accompanying letter of provenance, the father encountered the Babe on a train home and asked him to sign the letter he was sending his son. Being the accommodating gentleman he was, Ruth added a large and flawless green ink signature over the reverse of the letter. At 5 ¼” x 6 ½” (folded), the correspondence displays fold lines and toning, with the original mailing envelope included. An LOA from JSA will accompany, with this green ink specimen perfect for the advanced Ruth collector looking for something a bit different.
