Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Aside from a final 5-game swan song appearance with Phoenix in 2005-06, Brett Hull would conclude his career with Detroit, spending 3 seasons in Motor City in the early-2000s, which would include winning a Stanley Cup with the Wings in 2002. We have a quartet of sticks all used by The Golden Brett during his time in Detroit. Matching Easton Z-Bubble models, all four sport the original black tape over the blades, with a pair featuring red cloth wraps over the handles, one with blue cloth wrap and one with regular white tape. A pair also has “17 Hull” factory graphics over the upper shafts, with the third stick having “JJC Hull”, the four, blank. The two sticks with “17 Hull” graphics also have handwritten notations along the lower undersides, with the initials of Hull’s children “J.J.C.” on one along with “Fla”, and their names spelled out on the other. A signed LOA from Brett Hull will accompany.
All four sticks exhibit light to moderate wear, with one example having a tear to the blade tape. One of the red cloth tape handles is also showing a tear, with light residue over each of the four shafts including tape marks from the sticks previously being bundled together.
