This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
In 1966, Bob Johnson moved from Colorado College to the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he was head coach until 1982. He led the Badgers to seven NCAA tournaments, winning three championships in 1973, 1977, and 1981. It was at Wisconsin where Johnson earned the nickname, "Badger Bob." Presented is Bob Johnson's award plaque featuring the game puck from his 300th win at the helm of the Wisconsin Badgers. The substantial wooden plaque measures 9 inches by 12 inches and sports an engraved plate reading "300th Career Win, Robert N. Johnson, University of Wisconsin Hockey". Bob would continue his winning way, eventually posting a record of 394 college wins over 18 seasons with Colorado and Wisconsin. The award is in excellent condition with a few scuffs that do not detract from the importance of the memento. Obtained in an estate sale of personal items that had been saved by Bob Johnson and will come with a letter of provenance.
