Known as "Wild Bill", Bill Hunter helped issue in a new era of Edmonton Hockey with the founding of the Oilers in the WHA in 1972. The Saskatoon native was also responsible for the formation of what became the WHL in 1966. Elected to the WHA HOF as a builder, Wild Bill died in 2002. This limited-edition framed photo display has been signed by Bill Hunter and the great Wayne Gretzky. At 8" x 10", the photo pictures the pair, with each signing in thin gold ink. Double matted and framed in Oilers colours to full dimensions of approx 16" x 24", the limited-edition number of "94/99" is handwritten within the bottom right, with Oilers logos above and a plaque beneath listing Hunter's accomplishments. We should also note some wear to the frame.
