Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Well remembered for the heroics of Bobby Baun, scoring the overtime winner in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals on a broken ankle resulting from a Gordie Howe slap shot, the Toronto Maple Leafs captured their 12th Stanley Cup championship in franchise history in the spring of 1964, with the club featuring 11 HOF members including coach Punch Imlach. This stick has been team-signed by the 1963-64 Stanley Cup champion Toronto Maple Leafs. A generic right-hand model with “6” stamped to the upper shaft, approx 26 have signed one side of the shaft in blue ballpoint, including HOF members Tim Horton, Dave Keon, Frank Mahovlich, Bob Pulford, Red Kelly (twice), George Armstrong, Allan Stanley (twice), Andy Bathgate, Johnny Bower, Al Arbour and the aforementioned coach Punch Imlach. The signatures display well, especially the bold and dark Horton, with a few lighter including Carl Brewer and Bobby Baun.
The additional signers include Shack, Stewart, Pappin, Nevin, Harris, Baun, McKenney, Brewer, Hillman, Ehman, Simmons, Naylor and Haggert.
