The first All-Star Game of the 21st century, the 2000 affair was the 50th anniversary of the event, with Team World battling the best from North America at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. The World Stars were too much for the North American’s this night, winning 9-4. This Team World jersey was worn and signed by superstar Teemu Selanne, with this sweater being one of five from the event worn for either the photo-shoot, warm-up or in one of the three periods. CCM tagging along with a size 54 fly tag are affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL, CCM and NHLPA crests on the back bottom hem. Styled with an attractive NHL shield crest in black and silver, the NHL 2000 patch sits over the right breast, with the 2000 All-Star Game crest placed just above. Accented with triple-twill numbers, a Ducks patch sits over the right shoulder with a Finnish flag symbolizing nationality on the left. Exhibited wear includes just a few tiny marks on the right sleeve near the Anaheim patch, along with some sweat staining around the collar. Selanne has signed to the left of his “8” on verso in black marker, and the signature displays wonderfully. We should also note that the fight strap has an NHL inventory code of “AAA358” sewn-on, with this indicating the garments previously mentioned status as being one of 5 issued for the event. An LOA from the NHLPA will accompany.
