Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
From his last season in Detroit when he appeared in 82 games and managed an impressive career high of 57 points, we have a Red Wings jersey worn by winger Martin Lapointe in 2000-01, and it’s been photo-matched. A cut label along with a size 56 fly tag appear on the collar, with embroidered KOHO and NHL crests on the back neckline and bottom hem respectively. Styled with the winged-wheel team crest borrowed from the famous Montreal AAA, the solid red V-neck has been accented with tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Lapointe” arching over the reverse in matching material. Getty Image #653374 from Dec 6th 2000 has been matched to the black marks on the top area of the "0" of "20" on the right sleeve. The team patch sits on the inside hem, and it denotes the garment as a “1st Set” example. A COA from the Red Wings will accompany.
Game-wear on the attractive jersey is considerable, with dark marks on the lower front and over each sleeve, along with over 30 team repairs. We have a few large examples on the lower front, along with the bulk over each elbow section.
