Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024

Renowned American artist LeRoy Neiman captured the essence of Wayne Gretzky’s greatness right at the outset of his legendary hockey career. Neiman and Gretzky have each signed the late painter’s amazing 1981 “The Great Gretzky” limited-edition framed serigraph. Neiman, who died in 2012, signed in pencil on the bottom right margin of this serigraph, which has an image size of 36 1/2" x 27 1/2" and is number 135 of a limited-edition of 300. Gretzky’s large pencil autograph sits on the bottom left margin with the “135/300” limited-edition notation to the left of his autograph. Professionally mounted in a triple matte and with the pair of desirable signatures displaying without issue to speak of, this magnificent and highly-desirable sports artwork linking two creative geniuses is displayed in a majestic gold-colored wood frame that shows some wear to the edges and corners that is worth mentioning while measuring out to full dimensions of approximately 39" x 47". Please note that due to the size and/or weight, special shipping arrangements may be required.
While all of our frames are thoroughly and safely packaged for shipping, due to the size and/or weight, and dependent upon the shipping company, we should mention that damage may occur in transit. Please note that as such, we are not responsible for damage to frames that occur during shipping.
