Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
A two-time Avco World Trophy winner, defenceman Jim Dorey spent over a dozen seasons playing professional hockey, with appearances made in the NHL with Toronto along with a single game for the New York Rangers. We have a multi-signed Rangers “Dorey” jersey, along with a game-used stick from the Kingston native that has also been multi-signed. A Starter mesh example with labeling present, tackle twill letters and numbers have been utilized, with approx. 24 black marker signatures placed within the reverse number including Pat Conacher, Steve Vickers and Wayne Carleton. The stick is a late-1970s Canadien model with the tape removed from the blade, with approx. 28 black marker signatures including Bower, Perreault and Lafleur. An LOA from the Dorey family will accompany.
Most likely originating from an “Oldtimers” game, the Rangers jersey remains in wonderful condition, with the signatures bunched but displaying well. Other signers include Bob Nevin and Eddie Mio along with non-Rangers Sid Smith, Dan Daoust, Wally Weir, Bill Friday (referee) and others. The stick shows good game-use, with most signatures displaying well. Others who have signed include Real Cloutier, Gilles Marotte, Marty McSorley, Ken Linseman, Brian Glennie, Mario Marois, Andre Dupont, Dan Daoust, Ron Hoggarth, Bob Nevin and others. Also included in this signed lot, we have a pair of Dorey postcards, and a similarly sized photo.
