The tallest player to ever don a pair of skates in the NHL, Zdeno Chara will be in his 16th season in Beantown in 2018-19, serving as Boston team captain since 2006-07. We have a Bruins captain’s jersey worn by the Slovak in 2014-15, and it’s been photo-matched. A “58+” size label remains affixed to the collar, with NHL and Reebok crests gracing the front and back necklines respectively. Styled in multi-coloured tackle twill including the sleeve and verso numbers with a gorgeous spoked-B team crest, the “White Set 1 w/C” tie-neck also sports matching Bruins alternate patches over each shoulder, with the captain’s “C” over the left breast. A MeiGray patch numbered “L03018” sits on the inside hem, with a matching team LOA along with a second LOA to accompany.
A few marks and faint burns are present on the especially large garment, with team repairs near the left elbow, and beneath the left shoulder on the upper sleeve. There is also a small slit next to the repair beneath the shoulder. Getty Images #461536124 (Jan 10th 2015) and #461936966 (Jan 21st) have both been matched to the long team repair on the left shoulder, while Getty Image #462495818 from Jan 29th has been matched to the big black mark above the "33" on the right sleeve.
