Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018

Mark Recchi’s 1990-91 Pittsburgh Penguins signed game-worn CCM Tacks skates are attributed to have been worn by the Hall of Fame forward during the Stanley Cup playoffs. Recchi scored 10 goals and had 34 playoff points as the Pens claimed the first of two straight Cup titles. These CCM Tacks 651 model skates are correct for the time of the 1991 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The boots and blade holders are heavily worn and have extensive reinforcing stitching to the sides of each boot, which have custom insert pads inside each heel and “8 REX” marked on the bottoms. Recchi signed the outside edge of the blade holder of each skate along with a “Stanley Cup 91” annotation on the front of the right skate.
