Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
Nicknamed “Big Bird” for his unusually large size for the era, Larry Robinson can easily be regarded as one of the modern era’s greatest defenceman, with his career rating of +730 the highest in league history. We have a Canadiens alternate captain’s jersey worn by the Winchester native during the twilight of his career with the Habs in the late-1980s. Maska Ultrafil tagging with handwritten “54” sits affixed to the collar, with an embroidered CCM crest on the back bottom hem. Styled with the most recognizable team crest in hockey fully administered in tackle twill, the solid red V-neck has been accented with dual-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with the alternate’s “A” in matching material. Good use is exhibited with marks over each sleeve as well as fabric pulls on the lower front, along with board burns with resulting team-repaired holes (6) over the right sleeve.
