Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Hailing from a family that produced a trio of NHL players, Gord Dineen witnessed a considerable amount of pro level hockey throughout his career, with NHL appearances made with the Islanders, North Stars, Senators and Penguins. This signed Pittsburgh jersey was worn by the Toronto native during the 1988-89 NHL season. A Maska label remains sewn-down over the collar, with embroidered crests from CCM and Century Sports over the reverse bottom hem. Styled with a rubberized Pens team crest, the black V-neck has been accented with heat-pressed sleeve and verso numbers, with “Dineen” over the nameplate in matching material. This rare-style jersey would nicely compliment any Pens or jersey collection.
Measuring roughly 25" across the reverse from armpit to armpit, the jersey is approx. a size 50. Heavy use is visible on the vintage sweater, with numerous dark marks over the front and sleeves, along with board burns with a small resulting hole over/near each elbow section. There is also wear to the reverse number, with some of the material flaking off, with Dineen signing within the middle section in black marker adding “Best Wishes”.
