Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Highly desirable and collected rubber, we have an Original Six-era Chicago Black Hawks puck, along with a later post-expansion Toronto Maple Leafs example. The Hawks puck is from the first set of Art Ross Tyer examples issued featuring rubberized team logos (1958-62), with the familiar octagonal orange NHL crest on the reverse along with the patent number, with an attractive Black Hawks logo on the obverse. The Maple Leafs example hails from the 1969-73 period, with Converse now supplying the NHL, with a rubberized period Leafs logo in deep blue on the obverse, along with a screened-on NHL Converse logo over the reverse. The Leafs puck shows light wear with a few blemishes to the Converse logo, while the Hawks puck exhibits moderate use, with marks and wear over each logo.
