Culminating with Al Michaels' famous "Do you believe in Miracles" as time ticked down in the final minute of the third period, the 1980 United States Olympic hockey team did the seemingly impossible on February 22nd, 1980 in Lake Placid, New York by defeating the powerful Soviet Union squad that had won gold medals at five (5) of the previous six (6) Olympic Games. Going on to claim the gold medal for themselves after a win against Finland two (2) days later to give the country their second ever gold medal in ice hockey at the games, offered here is this limited-edition print that has been signed by twenty (20) members of that historical squad. Showcasing the artwork of Jerome Ryan that depicts the seen immediately after the final whistle had blown during the historic match against the Soviets, "Do You Believe In Miracles?" is listed in the bottom border along with the final score of "USA 4 - USSR 3" and "1980 Winter Olympics - Lake Placid, NY". Signed by Ryan just underneath the art at the top of the bottom border on the right side with a pencil signature that displays without issue, a Beckett hologram is affixed just above that while the limited-edition number of "136/1000" is found in matching pencil over the opposite side in the same area as the Ryan autograph. Signed by twenty (20) players and staff, those that have autographed the piece include; Ken Morrow, Mike Eruzione, Verchota, Wells, Craig, O'Callahan, Ramsey, Janaszak, Harrington, Strobel, Christian, Schneider, McClanahan, Silk, Patrick (coach), Christoff, Broten, Johnson, Baker and lastly, Herb Brooks (coach). All having signed with black marker ink signatures that display without issue and having added their hometowns to their autographs in matching ink, "DO YOU BELIVE IN MIRACLES" has also been added over the boards behind the Team USA net in matching black ink as well. Accompanied by a Beckett LOA, the piece shows fairly heavy wear in the form of dings and creasing to the edges and corners that would be covered by matting and framing while the art work area with the signatures displays perfectly fine.
