Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
From the immortal 1972 Summit Series, we have a commemorative silver coin in its original display case. At 2” in diameter, the coin features crossed Canadian and Russian flags embossed atop a laurel wreath with “Hockey Canada 1972”. This central image is flanked by “Canada vs USSR” engraved on each side. The reverse features an embossed image of two generic players chasing after a puck, one representing each country. Stamped “Sterling” along the edge, there are also 3 additional hallmarks. In beautiful condition, the coin exhibits light wear and appears to have been cleaned, especially over the reverse. The original navy-coloured Wellings display box with details listed on the lid will accompany.
