The finest and most tantalizing assembly of 1940-41 O-Pee-Chee cards ever put together is offered here and has been a perennial PSA award winner, garnering bragging rights since its appearance on the PSA Set Registry in 2010. The sets boasts a combined mark of 6.617 and features (19) Pop 1 chart-topping examples, with another 11 tied for first place on their respective lines of the PSA Population Report – impressive indeed. Condition leaders are four to have been awarded a mark of NM-MT 8; 121-Joe Benoit, 126-Jack Shewchuk, 134-Jack Crawford and 149-Eddie Wiseman, while a single NM 7, 111-Don Metz, is also a Pop 1 with none higher example. Just seven ’40-41 OPCs have ever merited NM-MT 8 recognition since PSA's inception. The Elmer Lach rookie card is slabbed EX-MT+ 6.5 (Pop 1 with 1 higher), while (17) at EX-MT 6 are highlighted by 101-Toe Blake, 108-Turk Broda, 118-Syl Apps, 122-Sweeney Schriner RC and 150-Paul Goodman RC, all of them Pop 1s with none higher. Max Bentley’s RC is an EX+ 5.5, while at EX 5 is the Milt Schmidt rookie and the “other” cards of Broda (#130) and 146-Apps, the latter two both Pop 3s and second-to-none in PSA history. Good luck with this terrific encapsulated treasure, led numerically by the legendary Toe Blake and All-Time Finest 1940-41 O-Pee-Chee set.
Please note that card #140-Red Heron is listed at PSA as being a VG-EX 4, but that the example included here is a VG 3.
