Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Noteworthy for scoring the Boston Bruins franchise’s 1000th goal, Vic Ripley would spend seven seasons in the NHL, including playing 31 games with the St Louis Eagles. We have a signed 1933-34 World Wide Gum Ice Kings card of the Elgin native, with this example encapsulated and certified “AUTHENTIC AUTO” by PSA/DNA. Signed to the left of his image in pencil, the signature displays beautifully, with the card itself in low grade, with corner wear and a large crease. The reverse has also been heavily damaged, with most of the text missing from paper loss, with glue residue also left from prior scrapbook removal. Ripley would pass away in Las Vegas in 1962, he was 55.
