Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
The two chief components for each battling country during the historic Summit Series in 1972, Paul Henderson has been immortalized for his series-winning goal, while Vladislav Tretiak almost defended it. These two original artist retouches from Daniel Parry feature the pair. Each 20” x 24” giclee on canvas print features the highly detailed skates of said player, with pucks and sticks pictured as well. Henderson and Tretiak have each signed their respective canvas in gold, and the signatures are flawless. Embossed silver seals are present along the bottom left, with the artist signing on the bottom right, including “1/1 Original Artist Retouch”. Both remain in gorgeous condition.
We should note that the retouch on each includes the #19 added and retouched to the Henderson canvas, while #20 was added and retouched on the Tretiak canvas.
